Kenana Knitters are a self supporting knitting co-operative in rural Kenya.  Knitting is an ideal income producing craft for the women because they can fit it in between the demands of their agricultural lifestyles. In times of drought and crop failure women can still earn money to pay for essential items. Kenana Knitters fund a range of welfare projects including; education, health, eye tests and HIV/AIDS counselling. Kenana Knitters promote the work of other local artisans such as Ziwani Weavers from Nyahururu, Kenya who have woven this blanket.
