A handmade bell to bring everyone to the table.
Dhokra is one of the earliest know methods of non-ferrous metal casting known to human civilisation. It existed under different names in all the primitive cultures of the world and was used to make jewellery, vessels and images of Gods. It uses what is known as the lost wax technique and every single piece is cast on a hand made clay mould that is broken in the casting process, thus no two pieces are identical. The craft of Dhokra has survived many centuries in India but today with modernisation setting in and the lifestyle of the tribal people who still practice Dhokra changing, the craft is slowly fading away.
