Framed by black silk this textile art piece from KMVS Qasab depicts the tree of life and "Vicchi" the scorpion. Pakko is done by the Sodha, Rajput & Megwar communities. The word "pakko" means solid. It is a dense variation of two sided buttonhold stitch, which gives the embroidery a raised appearance. The original design is drawn freehand and then transferred on to the cloth by a stencil.Total size 47cm x 55cm, embroidered panel 27cm x 36cm.
"We like that our embroidery is going to a place far away and that people there will know who a Sodha Rajput is."
